A fruit with 8 or 10 g of fiber per 100 g may look like the obvious winner, but that number does not always match what you actually eat. One hundred grams of raspberries fits easily in a bowl; 100 g of passion-fruit pulp takes several fruits. That is why a per-100-g ranking needs a serving-size reality check.
Which fresh fruits are most fiber-dense?
The table below compares the edible portion of fresh fruit. Values are approximate and vary by variety and ripeness.

Passion fruit leads by concentration, but raspberries, blackberries, and guava can deliver more fiber in an easy everyday serving. One cup of raspberries provides about 8 g fiber—well over twice the amount in a medium banana.
Berries and guava combine high concentration with generous portions
Raspberries and blackberries are especially useful because their small seeds and structure are eaten whole. They provide roughly 5–6.5 g fiber per 100 g, so a full cup contributes about 7–8 g.
Guava is similarly concentrated at about 5.4 g per 100 g. A 150 g serving can also approach 8 g fiber.
Avocado ranks high, but it plays a different nutritional role
At about 6.7 g fiber per 100 g, avocado belongs near the top. It also provides around 160 calories and 15 g fat per 100 g, while raspberries are about 52 calories and under 1 g fat.
That does not make avocado inferior. It simply means avocado functions more like a source of unsaturated fat plus fiber than a light sweet fruit.
A pear can beat many exotic fruits in a normal serving
A pear is only moderately concentrated at about 3.1 g fiber per 100 g, but a medium fruit weighs close to 180 g and provides around 5.5 g fiber. A medium apple with skin provides roughly 4.4 g.
This is why a per-100-g ranking should not make ordinary fruit look unimportant. A larger serving of a moderately fibrous fruit can provide more than a small serving of a concentrated one.
Keep the skin when it is edible
Some of the fiber in apples and pears is in and just beneath the skin. Peeling them reduces total fiber. Washing the fruit and eating the edible skin preserves more of it.
Citrus works differently: membranes and pulp contain fiber, but juicing removes much of that structure.
Whole fruit and juice are not equivalent
A medium orange may provide about 3.4 g fiber. A glass of strained orange juice contains very little because most of the pulp is left behind.
If fiber is the goal, whole fruit clearly has an advantage even when the juice comes from exactly the same fruit.
Why dried fruit is separate
Raisins, dried figs, dates, and prunes become fiber-dense partly because water has been removed. Per 100 g they can look far higher than fresh fruit, but sugar and calories are also concentrated and serving sizes are much smaller.
A useful ranking therefore separates fresh and dried fruit instead of treating water loss as though it were an equivalent serving.
The practical way to choose
For a high-fiber fruit serving, raspberries, blackberries, guava, pears, and avocado are particularly useful. Passion fruit is exceptionally concentrated, but a typical serving contains less pulp.
There is no need to chase a single winner. Rotating fruits gives you fiber along with vitamin C, potassium, carotenoids, and other compounds that differ from one fruit to another.
