Whole Avocado vs Olive Oil: Fat, Fiber and Calories
Avocado and olive oil share a fat profile dominated by oleic acid, but they are not equivalent foods: 100 g of avocado provides about 160 calories, 15 g of fat and 6–7 g of fiber; one tablespoon of olive oil provides about 120 calories and 14 g of fat with virtually no fiber or protein. Avocado is a water-rich whole food; oil is concentrated fat.
