A dairy-free diet does not have to be low in calcium, but non-dairy sources differ both in total calcium and in how much the body can absorb. Tofu and plant milks also vary enough that the label can change the answer completely.

Tofu can be excellent or modest
Tofu made with calcium sulfate can contain a large amount of calcium. Products made primarily with magnesium chloride or nigari may contain much less. Two firm tofu blocks can therefore look similar and have very different calcium numbers.
